Evaluation
This has been a real learning experience I’ve found it quite hard to get anyone to get back into contact with me as far as the interview. I also know that next time I will need to manage my time in a more organized fashion. When researching it was enjoyable to find out really what goes in to my chosen job role and I admire the sheer determination it has taken to work their way to being a buyer for the people I’ve read about. I did come across some troubles on the day of my assignment hand in as I had saved my report on my usb and went to uni with it in hand only to find out my file was corrupt and because I handed saved it on my computer and only the usb stick I had now had to star pretty much from scratch again. Upon the completion of my report in realised that really need a lot more written annotation on my blog to explain the images and reference the designers I was wearing in the images. I’ve realised a lot of things I thought I knew about the industry was just the tip of the ice berg and I found out just how large of a scale the buying role encompasses.
As an individual wanting to eventually have a steady job in the industry, it was very insightful and inspiring to find such dedicated men and women. Not only did it help me to understand the industry more but helped me to visualise where exactly I would most be happy to work within it. As well as actually doing your on it becomes your lifestyle taking you to places far and wide across the globe establishing networking links and enjoying finding inspiration from different parts of the world. There are many possibilities when it comes to a buyers role, it’s not as 2D as I thoughts and there so much more involved in being a fashion buyer.

I didn’t realise exactly how many different aspects go into what ends up on the high street shop floors until now it’s truly amazing to know that each garment may have come from a concept or someone’s trip to a remote part of the world. All in all I think it’s been a real eye opening experience and although I want to be a designer being a fashion buyer enables me to have my finger in every pie so to speak.
